While it remains impossible to fully grasp the internal politics of any institution, it is hard not to be struck by a sense of regrettable coincidence when considering the recent departure of three high-level museum professionals—all women, all fearless, all deeply engaged in art’s social and political potential, and its much-needed capacity to reshape our world.
